How It Started
The Ron Jeffery Practice is a family run and orientated business with its origins going back to 1985
We have been offering Financial Services in West Sussex and surrounding areas for over 3 decades. The practice was set up by Ron & Trish Jeffery with only a typewriter, a telephone, 100 sheets of letterheaded paper and no clients.
Trish would type out tens of letters during the day, addressed to prospective clients, then post them on the way to the school run. Ron would meet with those that were kind enough to reply during the day or evening and gradually the Practice grew.
Starting as part of Hill Samuel in 1985, the Practice has developed over the years and been part of various national firms or networks such as Allied Dunbar (1991), Zurich (1998), Openwork (2003) and Intrinsic (2012 – 2020). As things stand today, we are very pleased to be part of Quilter Financial Planning.

No matter where we have found ourselves this has remained the same.
It is true, family, health and wealth are probably the most important things in life. Our ethic is to put the client first and be their advocate throughout their financial journey.
For many years Ron & Trish grew the business until Martin joined the Practice as an Adviser in 2007, following a successful career in Chemistry. With Ron as Practice Principal and Trish as the Practice PA. 10 very happy years of working as a team followed until sadly Trish was taken from us in 2017.
Since then, Ron and Martin continued to run the family business as a partnership and although Trish will always be impossible to replace, in 2019 we found an excellent Paraplanner in Jo Gibson, who would help with our administration.
To cope with increasing demand for advice, the Practice was also needing to recruit a trustworthy, diligent, young adviser. Happily, the right candidate came along, and in May 2022 Mark Gaskell joined the Practice as our Mortgage Specialist and a 3rd Full Financial Planner in the Practice.
