A Bit About Me

I started The Ron Jeffery Practice in 1985, having moved to the South from County Durham to help build the M25. After being made redundant I went home and I thought people always need two things in life, money and food. As much as I enjoy them, I wasn’t keen on the idea of opening a fish and chip shop, so I decided, with the help of my Wife, Trish, to start a small family orientated business providing financial advice. 

I have been offering Financial Services in West Sussex and surrounding areas for over 3 decades. Trish and I set it all up with only a typewriter, a telephone, 100 sheets of letterheaded paper and no clients. Trish would type out tens of letters during the day, addressed to prospective clients, then post them on the way to the school run. I would meet with those that were kind enough to reply during the day or evening and gradually the Practice grew.

I have loved my time working with all different types of people, I have many long-standing relationships with clients who I have helped over 15, 20, 30 plus years. I have a vast experience and wealth of knowledge when it comes to planning for retirement and when needed, mitigating IHT tax for families.

Knowing you have helped people both make and save money is an incredibly satisfying feeling, and I was delighted when my son, Martin, decided to change careers and join the family business in 2008, I could pass on my knowledge and experience to him, continuing the goal of being a family orientated business.

Then in 2022 we decided to bring in some young blood into the Practice with Mark, this was another great step towards the future of our business, someone we know who shares the same values the business has been built on and brings excellent technical knowledge. I know that our clients and their families are going to be in great hands for many more years. 

Outside of Work

In my spare time I enjoy golf, painting, eating out with friends and family, and watching cricket, football and Rugby. Being from Country Durham I am Newcastle United fan, although I enjoyed football far more in the 80s and 90s than I do the modern game, I still watch as many Newcastle games as I can, and always look for their results.
